An Airigh

An Airigh is located in Galtrigill, a sparsely populated and friendly crofting township, situated at the end of a quiet single-track road on a peninsula beside Loch Dunvegan. Surrounded by moorland and the sea there are stunning views to the coral beach, the Outer Hebrides, the Cuillin mountain range and MacLeod Tables. Glendale is on the other side of the hill and the nearest town is Dunvegan, about 20mins drive. An Airigh is an ideal base to explore this rugged corner of Skye or to just relax, unwind and refresh.

The Location

An Airigh sits quietly in a wildflower meadow within our 15 acre croft of sheep pasture and moorland. An abundance of wildlife and flora can be seen from the croft including buzzards, eagles, seals and occasional pod of dolphins heading towards the coral beach. On a clear night the sky is a marvel of stars or the shimmer of northern lights. There is access to a secluded bay at the foot of the croft which is a great place to explore, watch the wildlife or listen to the flow of the tide.

An Airigh is an escape from it all and you will feel immersed in nature, enveloped by the dramatic and rugged coast line of Loch Dunvegan and the Hebrides, watching the ever changing skies. Be reassured, close by is a well-stocked local shop in Glendale and a range of restaurants including The Three Chimney’s and you are a short drive from all the highlights of the magical Isle of Skye. We are on hand to help, give advice when needed or just share a friendly wave.
